Mrs. Droz, seventh-grade counselor at Springville Junior High, has been working at the junior high for nine years. Before Mrs. Droz became a counselor, she went to the University of Utah and got her bachelor’s degree in English. Then she was accepted into the U of U  graduate program for School Counseling and got her Masters degree in School Counseling. She did an internship at Hunter Junior High in Granite school district before moving to Nebo School District. Mrs. Droz is a die hard U of U fan. She worked at Spanish Fork High School, Mt. Nebo Jr. High and now she is currently working at Springville Junior High.

Mrs. Droz had several different jobs before becoming a counselor. She was a ski instructor at Snowbird for several years, a medical receptionist at the Utah Heart Clinic in Salt Lake. She worked as an outdoor education in Hendersonville, North Carolina for a couple of years, and was a server at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Trolley Square.

“I really like working with students. I’m always impressed by how smart and strong students are when they are going through a tough time and trying to cope with all the stresses that come with adolescence and life in general,” said Mrs. Droz.

According to Mrs. Tarin, counselor secretary, Mrs. Droz is easy to work with. She is willing to do anything that is asked of her to do. She is always so calm, and she can be trusted to get the job done.

“I enjoy working with Mrs. Droz, because she is willing to take on tough jobs. She makes the counseling center a fun place to be,” said Mrs. Linton, eighth grade counselor, “Mrs. Droz is a very caring individual. She is very goal oriented and great at helping people solve problems.”

Mrs. Droz is very helpful in many ways. According to Courtney Devenish, a seventh grader, she has helped her change her lunch, and Mrs. Droz also helped her switch her schedule. In Leland Marinez’s opinion, a seventh grader, Mrs. Droz is very nice, she will talk to you if she can and take care of whatever you need.

“Some of Mrs. Droz’s best qualities are that she understands and listens to you,” said Jessey Simons, another seventh grader.

According to Mrs. Linton, Mrs. Droz leads a charity organization to help educate children a Haiti. The organization raises money to sponsor students’ education. Over the summer they did a 5k fun run to raise money for the education of students in Haiti. Two summers ago Mrs. Droz went to Haiti and visited the kids.
