Mrs. Linton, 8th Grade Counselor at SJHS 69.51 KB

“She relates to you.” “She’s a hardworking teacher.” “She knows how to work with other people.” “She has a great personality and she’s really awesome.” All of these quotes describe one amazing SJHS counselor--Mrs. Linton.

Mrs. Linton is the eighth-grade counselor. She said, ”There is a long list of things I do as a counselor. Teaching guidance lessons, helping students with future planning, registration and class choices, collaborating with counselors from elementary and high schools, holding friendship groups, but my favorite part is working with students one on one and in small groups to solve problems and achieve their potential.”

Many students said that they like Mrs. Linton because she helps out with problems. She’s also easy to talk to. “She’s an awesome counselor because she always helps me with everything--she figures out your problems with a calm voice and a great smile,” said Tanika Farrar, an eighth grader at SJHS. Ocany Padilla, another eighth grader, said that Mrs. Linton is awesome “because she pays attention to your problems and tries to help in any way- she tries to  understand you.”

“She’s like the best counselor in any school I’ve been to,” said Zach Sorenson, a student at SJHS. Blake Johnson, another eighth grader, said, “She’s really nice, and she just listens. She’s the bomb.com!”

Mrs. Linton said, “I love being a school counselor because of the people I get to meet. I have been able to get to know so many amazing students - each with unique qualities. Also, my job is never boring. It is something different every day!” Outside of school, Mrs. Linton likes to ski, swim, and read. She also loves to go to comedies and musicals. “Les Miserables is my favorite and I can't wait for opening day of the movie on Christmas day!” she said. Mrs. Linton has five kids and some cool pets. “Instead of dogs at our house, we have reptiles. We have had corn snakes, a bearded dragon, an iguana, and right now we have two boa constrictors,” she said.

SJHS is lucky to have Mrs. Linton. She loves to talk to students and help out with any problems you have, so stop by sometime and say hi to her!
