Spotlight: Ms. Gerhauser

Ms. Gerhauser is one of the four P.E teachers here at SJHS. She taught PE at an elementary school for four years, but this is her first year teaching at Springville Jr. High.

P.E was one of her favorite subjects in school, but it took her a long time to decide to teach it. She changed her major four times before choosing Exercise Science.  She was a personal trainer, and then she decided to go back to school and get her teaching certificate.

Ms. Gerhauser went to Snow College for two years, graduated from BYU, then went back to UVU for her teaching certificate.

“The best part of teaching is helping kids find something they love and want to continue doing. It is amazing to see a student “get it” and love it! I also really love getting to wear workout clothes everyday!”

“Ms. Gerhauser is a nice person and is really funny,” said Jorgeann Kaufman, a ninth grader here at SJHS.

Ms. Gerhauser is from Springville, and she went to Springville Jr. High! She is the middle child. She has one older brother and sister, and two younger sisters. Some of her hobbies are playing with her nieces and nephews, playing sports, hiking, reading, play and listen to music, watching movies, traveling, and going to school.

Mrs. Gerhauser loves sports. She was on her college softball team (at Snow College and BYU.) She also coaches the Springville High School softball team.

Mrs. Gerhauser is a really great teacher here at SJHS and it would not be the same without her!
