Spotlighting Great Singers at SJHS

Submitted by tiffanie.miley on

Here at Springville Junior High we would like to recognize some of our great and  talented singers. Most of these students have been singing for as long as they can remember. They also have been singing in choir since seventh grade with Mrs. Walker, the choir teacher at Springville Junior High. They sing almost everyday and are natural born singers.

Spencer Johnson, an eighth grader, said, “ You don't really learn it, just comes naturally, and I sing everyday.”  Spencer Johnson now in the Journeymen choir.  Last year he was a Apprentice Singer.

Samantha Sorensen, another eighth grade talented singer, said, “I absolutely sing all the time, sometimes its hard for me to stop.” Samantha was also in Apprentice Singers last year in the seventh grade; now she has become a Knightingale. Many girls claim to want her talent.

To sing well, these students have worked very hard to get where they are now.  They have attended the SJHS choir class, sung at talent shows, listened to music and sung along. It’s tough to learn how to sing, but when singers come from a family of great acting/musical voices it isn’t as challenging. Just like Samantha Sorensen’s sister Alexandria Sorensen being the lead in the play this year.

Singing may be hard, difficult, and challenging, but it can be fun also.  Spencer Johnson said, “Don't make it a chore or a have-to-do situation.  Make it exciting.”
