As spring break drew closer, students and staff at Springville Junior High started planning on what to do for the week long break. “This year I went to Bear Lake with all of my husband’s family,” said Mrs. Koriane Maughan, English and dance teacher here at SJHS. “We went swimming, golfing, and played games.”

Spring break was on Monday April 9th and continued through the rest of that week. It ended on Friday, April 13th. According to Taylor Stubblefield, an eighth grader here at SJHS, her favorite memory from spring break is camping. “Swimming and camping are my favorite things about spring break,” said Taylor.

According to Mrs. Maughan, her favorite memory of spring break is from when she was in high school. “A large group of people would go camping together at a place called Lake Fork in Spanish Fork Canyon. I really love camping,” said Mrs. Maughan. “We would stay up late, roast marshmallows, tell stories, go hiking, and all kinds of fun activities. We did that every spring for three years in high school.”

According to Sherie Mendez, she was anticipating spring break because she wanted to stay up late and sleep in. “My favorite memory from spring break is going to Salt Lake to visit my sisters,” said Sherie.

Spring break is a time for students to take a break and have time to be with their family and friends. A time to do activities or fun things like barbecues, games, or just being at home together.
