Student Teachers at SJHS

Submitted by jennifer.dunn on

At SJHS, we are lucky to have many student teachers. Some teachers are Ms. Jack and Mrs. Carney, who are teaching Mrs. Gleave’s math classes. They both study at BYU and have always enjoyed math.

Ms. Jack said, “I knew I wanted to have a math-related career. When I went back to visit my high school after my freshman year of college, I knew math teaching was the right career.”

Mrs. Carney said, ”I decided I wanted to be a teacher when I thought about how I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives and have fun doing so.” Mrs. Carney explained that she did not  get to choose a school, she put in Nebo School District, but she is happy she came here.

Brock Hargett, a ninth grade boy, said he likes the student teachers and that it is good to have them because “you get to meet new people”. According to Brock his favorite thing about the student teachers is how nice they are.

Senna Warren, a ninth grade girl, said her regular teacher only teaches sometimes, and she likes the student teachers.

We are very lucky to have the student teachers with us and hope they have a good time.
