Have you ever made anything that was so great that you just had to show everyone?  Well heres your chance. SJHS is making it possible for your art to be seen all over Springville in Springville Junior High School’s school newspaper! Emily Baugh, an eighth grader at SJHS, said, “I love seeing my art in the school newspaper!” Kallie Powell, a ninth grader at SJHS, said, “Entering my picture was fun! It was fun to see it in the newspaper!”

But drawings aren't the only things you can enter! Chloe Wilson, an eighth-grader at SJHS, said, “You can enter photos, pictures, short stories, and poems. It’s really cool to see art and writing in the newspaper. It’s cool to see people’s hidden talents!” Ms.Miley, the journalism teacher, said, “Unfortunately we don’t have enough room the the newspaper for every submission, so the journalism class votes on the pieces they think should be included.”

Many students enjoy the art in the newspaper. Emily Baugh said, “I didn't want to do it at first but then my friend pressured me to do it, and I ended up having a lot of fun!” Even the students that don’t enter enjoy looking and reading the art on the back page of the newspaper.  Chloe Wilson said, “You should enter your art to show the world your talent! Many students are really good at art but they don’t enter.”

Lastly, you can submit your art in Ms. Miley’s room in the green envelope by her door. Just put your submission in the envelope with your name and your 7th period teacher’s name and get a chance to see your picture in the paper!  As Chloe Wilson said, “ Enter your art!”
