Thank You Doors at SJHS

During the month of November, Springville Junior High was spreading around their appreciation to teachers by making posters and saying how much they appreciate their teachers.

Here is how the doors work: The service learning class picked two to three teachers and made a poster for them; the posters are a way of showing teachers appreciation. Then that teacher has their class make a poster for another teacher. “It is a way to show teachers we care for them and a way to say thank you,” said Tanner Shields, a student in service learning.

Theresa Morse, an eighth-grader, is grateful for her family, friends, school and her teachers. Theresa got to decorate Mrs. Bass’s door. “It is important to show teachers how grateful we are of them,” said Theresa. In Theresa’s opinion, it is important to to decorate the doors because you think about what your teacher has done for you, and then you can see why you are thankful for them.

According to Mr. Anderson, a math teacher at SJHS, it was kind of the students to decorate his door. Mr. Anderson said it is important to show your appreciation to others because “not only are you showing appreciation, you feel good, they feel good, then everybody is happy.”
