Throwing Pies In Teachers’ Faces

The Latinos in Action class raised over $2,000 for kids with cancer! Since they raised so much money, they decided that they were going to do a reward for the school on Tuesday, April 1. During lunchtime, they threw pies in teachers’ faces!

“I really liked collecting the money and make money for kids with cancer. It was really fun, and I enjoyed it,” said Michael Lopez, a member in Latinos in Action.

“I liked going to pick up the money. I am so proud of how much money we earned for a good cause,” said Nathalia Cerbantes, a member in Latinos in Action.

Thanks to all of the donations, students got to throw pie in 13 of the teachers faces! The teachers were: Mr.Beebe, Mr. Bentley, Mrs. Severson, Mrs. Murray, Mrs. Jackson, Mr. Taylor, Mr. Shields, Mrs. Maughan, Mrs. Bodily, Mr. Rencher, Mrs. Shepard, Mrs. Luke, Mr. Tonkinson.

“I volunteered to be a ‘pie target’ in hopes of motivating students to donate money for the ‘Pennies for Patients’ fundraiser. When I was in Junior High and High School, I remember I loved it when teachers got involved. It was funny to see the students get so excited to watch a teacher get hit, and I was one of the lucky ones who didn’t get hit too badly which was awesome. The Latinos in Action have done an amazing job raising money for charity. They did such and awesome job and should be proud of themselves,” said Mrs. Severson, one of the teachers who volunteered to be a pie target.

“I volunteered because I thought it would be fun for the students to see me be hit with pie. The students seemed to enjoy it; there was a lot of watching and cheering. It was for a really good cause,” said Mr. Rencher, another pie target.
